Local Flood

With warm and rainy water as it is, snow melts desparately. There used to be a road I walked every day on my way to the train station, now there is a sudden lake.

Wooden church

Although this wooden chuch look very old, it's rather young one build several years back. Anyway, the architecture is traditional for Russian North, and I like the way the church looks among the trees.

Defender's Day

Today is a public holiday - National Defender's Day. But, in fact, it's considered as a Male's Day so all boys and grown men get their gifts. Though, I spent this day at home, reading my book and having a lot of yummy things, such as coffee and sweets you see in the picture.

Spring Messenger

My yesterday's photo (of icicles) for some reason made you think that it's extremely cold over here. But, in fact, icicle is an attribute of coming spring: when sun begin actually heating (comparatively, of course), snow on roofs start melting and dropping down. As the air get colder with sunset, those melt-water drops get frozen on their way down. Besides, air is never as warm as a roof so it takes a while before an icicle get entirely melted, and when the temperature is slightly over freezing you can see icicle 'crying'.

Moscow Kremlin: Spasskaya Tower

Today I'm going to present you another iconic photo of my city: Moscow Kremlin and one of its towers - Spasskaya. The clock on this tower is the main clock of the country. It is like 'Russian Big Ben'. This is the clock we see on every TV channel when New Year comes with a strike.
