Wedding party in Hermitage Garden

Young couples often come to Hermitage Garden for a walk and a photo session after their registration.

Steam-engine

No, you're not mistaken - this is a real steam-engine and it 'lives' in Moscow city! I never was so lucky as to see this enigine myself, although heard its siren nearly daily. But thanks to my husband we can have a photo of it now! He took this picture while overpassing the railroad junction on his way to work (that's the place where I photographed the old station house).

Another photo on my extension site.

Station House

I already posted a photo of this station house some weeks back, but today I'd like to present another one, taken on a beautiful sunny day of spring. Everything looks brighter and more cheerful when the sun is ON.

Trains

It's cold but sunny today and hopefully the weather will turn more spring-like shortly. In the meantime, let's take a look at a bunch of freights - I likes their colours.

Cats

It's cold and rainy in Moscow today so the photo will be about cats on a warm sunny day.

Priorova St.

It was snowing last night, and the temperature is slightly above freezing. After two weeks of amaizing weather it looks like a mockery!
Waiting for the sun...

Dinner time

By the way, weather is back to early spring temperatures: it's only +4C and rainy today.

Lunch time

Well, that's what my lunch looks like when I stay home over weekend. Not bad, I should say. Especially added that it's just the first course, soup, traditional for the Russian cousine. As for the second one (which the spicy Spanish wine is prepared for), it would be middle-done steaks from fresh veal with a garnish; alternatively, it might be wholly baked chicken coupled with red Bordeaux. As a refined finish, I prefer a slice of brie or camambert with a whistle of wine. Will you join?

And as for Christina's question about current temperatures in Moscow, it's about +20C in the daytime and +12C or so in the night. And, of course, sun is really warm nowadays.

Sun-bathing

As summer-like weather comes into city, people begin getting rid of their cloths. Well, you can nearly envy this man about his reading on sunny Saturday afternoon.

There used to be a railroad

My husband took this photo for this blog when he went for his training. This is just a piece of old tracks which were removed as the city was growing. It was turned to a monument and surrounded by high appartment buildings, but there is a sign stating 'Here used to be a railroad'.

Drying cloths

Drying cloths in the 'open space' between appartment buildings is rather rare nowadays but you can still see it in some old blocks of the city. Anyway, it's always funny to see someone's garments hung by a playground.

Sparrows

If you take a closer look, you'll be able to notice a bunch of sparrows sitting in the bush. For some reazon a dozen birds occupied this particular plant and enjoyed their day.

First leaves

Last winter was mild but long, and the spring is late but fast. Yesterday I saw first leaves coming out and couldn't miss it! But in a few days trees abd bushes became 'pre-green' and new grass can be seen everywhere. We had +18C yesterday, and it's quite unusual for Moscow April but I love it.

Cranberry-tea

Thank you all for your good words on my anniversary! I'll try to post daily although work keeps me very busy nowadays. Anyway, I will try my best.

Thank you again for being with me during that year of Moscow DP! I can't invite all of you for tea in person but I can show you a picture of delicious beverage made of cranberries. Bon Appetite!

This is the intersection odf Sadovoe Koltso (Garden Ring) and Pokrovka streets. Both are very old so there are some nice houses and a church built long before 20th century.

1 year old

I missed the exact date but Moscow Daily Photos turned 1 year old a few days back. Who would expect it to last that long?! Not me.
Anyway, thank you for visiting this blog and supporting me with your comments! I really appreciate it.

Today's photo was taken in 'Atrium' mall last Sunday. I was so lucky as to catch this gentleman playing grand-piano, and the music was soft and nice.

Theme Day: Water

Today's theme is water, and I thought of some connection with my antipods: they have autumn just as our spring is in its bloom! So I decided to show you cold water and yellow leaves.
