Forget-me-not
Bright at the beginning of summer, those simple and delicate flowers turn pale-blue and then pink as the sun-light burn away their colour.

Belorussky terminal
First railway station was created here in 1870. In a couple decades traffic became so intense that terminal had to be reconstructed. New building was open for passangers in 1912, and this is the one (with minor chages) we see now.
Belorussky got its name because it serves westward (Belorussia-ward) train lines.

Blooming stawberry
This photo was taken a while ago, and we expect to see ripe berries soon. The weather over here is far from summer-like but I like it better than winter, anyway!

A view from new office
It's not exactly what I see from my seat in the new office^ to get this view I have to make several steps toward the window.

On the move
As I told you yesterday, my company is changing its office and IT department was the first to move. The new office is empty and quiet yet but in a short while it will come to life, get crowded with busy people and filled with thousands of daily noises.
Thursday, 18 June 2009
Our company is about to move to another office. That means we have all the pre-move craziness around here. So I chose this photograph to bring a bit of harmony into my today. It was taken at Chistye Prudy, in the middle of the city, and there is no fish in those ponds but, I guess, it doesn't matter for those guys.

Wires, wires...
These are power lines crossing Losinyi Ostrov park. By the way, that name means Elk Island, the park was called so because it used to be a natural forest with great variety of wildlife, including elks. To run power line through the woods a wide fire-break was made. It provides a beauriful vista, though.

As I told you before, on a hot summer days Moscow fontains get full of people. This activity is illegal, of course, but nobody (including police) cares about that becase there is too few opportunities for refreshment in Moscow streets.
I don't believe this girl was really posing but it looked just like that.

Peony time
It's time for peonies to be in full bloom. I like the richness of these flowers and their scent.

Russia Day
Today Russia celebrates Independence Day. This provided us with another long week-end which is very useful in summer-time. I intend to enjoy my best and wish you the same!

Children are those who enjoy hot summer days the most: they can afford to disregard the rules of decorum and do whatever they like.
P.S. More photos on my extension site.

One more photo of a hot summer day in Sokolniki park. People enjoy staying by water, and I enjoy watching them.

Forest star
I went for a walk couple days back and set in the woods for a while. I was sitting quiet and reading the book when a curious squirrel appeared from behind a tree. It looked at me and then very quickly crossed the trail hiding by another tree, a bit closer. Then looked at me again and made another flash-like move toward yet closer tree. Thus the squirrel made a couple rounds and came nearly to my feet but it was so fast that my camera couldn't catch it! All I got was just a set of blurry pictures. So no fauna today, flora only :)
These wild flowers look like little stars scattered all around the grass.

Welcome summer
Sometimes most welcome parks are those that are unkept. Walking in the wildness, with knee-high dandelions and nettles on your left and right, listening to birds' songs, blinking at a sudden splash of sunlight among the heavy foliage - oh, if it could last a bit longer!
