Did I ever tell you that I have a thing for steps and stairways? Well, you might notice it yourself if you visit this blog now and then.
So here is another proof taken in Kolomenskoe park.

Working in a modern business center has its advantages. For example, you can watch a bunch of steeplejacks washing the building next to yours. Don't they look like a bunch of berries?

Kolomenskoe park is located on the high bank of Moscow river. There are hills and gills, ups and downs, so well-designed steps make an important point of the landscape.

Moscow river

Last Monday was so great that even Moscow river looked blue in the center of the city! It can be counted next to miracle, I believe.

Upside down

There are few ponds in Kolomenskoe park. On a fine day the water can be so still, so glassy that you can't tell a difference between reflections and reality.

Sand art

The sand art international contest is being hosted in Kolomenskoe park. I visited it a couple days back and took these photos. To tell you the truth, I wasn't really impressed by scultures but I guess they made a good photo-collage.

Fairy

Yesterday was a beautiful day of Indian summer and I went to Kolomenskoe park. I saw this girl sitting in a bright spot of sunlight and I thought she looked just like a fairy. Don't you see an aureola about her?

Cranberries

Cranberry is a very popular fruit(?) in Russia. Apart from it being a stockroom of vitamins, it's also one of very few berries that can be stored for long. So in wintertime, when everything else is eaten out, cranberries used to be the last fruit available bebore new harvest.
And I value them for being extremely useful for one's health: if you catch a cold, just make a drink of cranberries, sugar and warm water and have it every hour. You'll see the result by the end of day!

Never get tired of looking down

My office view provides so many opportunities to study the life beneath that I can hardly stop doing it! Here again, the church you (might) know so well but there is always something new about its looks.

The September is surprisingly warm so far. Aware that it would last long I'm trying to get the most out of it. Trees are just starting turning colour so streets are still of faded green and look neary summer-like.

Last flowers of the year

Now that summer is gone domestic flowers are scarce in Moscow area. That is still more the reason to appreciate last chance to admire autumn flowerage.

Birches turning grey

When birches start changing colour yellow threads look like first grey hairs on a man's head. So we say that birches 'turning grey'...

Bunch of roses

It's been a while since I posted any flowers. So here is a bunch of roses for you.

Autumn piles

Fallen leaves that cover streets are being piled into colourful heaps and left for better time. In a few days those piles will be gathered together and burned or taken away in plastic bags. It's a pity, I like to look at them...

Izmailovo

This Kremlin is not real, it's just a mall in Izmailovo district. Since I don't know when there used to be a arts and crafts fair but lately the fair was 'civilised' so a new architectual complex was created. Nowadays you can find there crafts and souvenir shops, museums, cafes and so on. The mall is located next to Izmailovo hotel, the largest one in Moscow, and is always full of foreigners.

Moscow is extremelly crowded, especially in central districts, and yet they manage to bring some construction into the city!

Old buildings, new buildings...

If you look at Moscow center from the high spot you'll notice that buildings are mix of various eras. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's a sad view.

Ostankino TV-tower

On a fine day of early autumn Ostankino TV-tower looks in its best, especiall when you look at it from the top floor. Can you see the sky is pinkish at the horyzon? This is Moscow smog, I believe.

Church

I couldn't fine any information on the little church I found in a few steps from central street. It looks like home church, though - the ones rich people used to build next (or within) their houses.

One more beauitful day can be your last chance to eat outside. And some street tables are so cosy, so inving...

Theme day: Big

September Theme Day is to present BIG. Well, I guess any photo of Moscow would do for Moscow is big is every meaning. Nevertheless, I chose this building of a business center located in the central (and big, of course) street of the city - Tverskaya. As you can see, we have a beautiful autumn day over here today.
