This lady is selling veniki (branches of leaves) for use at the banya, which is located just down the street. They're very popular, and I did see one man stop his car to buy a couple branches, so the lady must make at least a little bit of money! The banya is a Russian sauna, and it's much moister and hotter than a traditional dry sauna. People use the veniki to hit themselves with, and it's said that it improves circulation. I've never tried it, so I wouldn't know!
