For a while I will post no comment with my photos since I'm permanently running out of time these days. But hope it will not last long.

Stairway to...

Did I ever tell you that I have a thing for steps and stairways? Well, you might notice it yourself if you visit this blog now and then.
So here is another proof taken in Kolomenskoe park.

Fairy

Yesterday was a beautiful day of Indian summer and I went to Kolomenskoe park. I saw this girl sitting in a bright spot of sunlight and I thought she looked just like a fairy. Don't you see an aureola about her?

Spotted log

After a misery of cold and dull week we suddenly got a sunny week-end. This light-spotted fallen trunk looked very picturesque in the lush green of grass.

Forget-me-not

Bright at the beginning of summer, those simple and delicate flowers turn pale-blue and then pink as the sun-light burn away their colour.

Blooming stawberry

This photo was taken a while ago, and we expect to see ripe berries soon. The weather over here is far from summer-like but I like it better than winter, anyway!

Tonight is gonna be the shortest night of the year. These days darkness in Moscow area last not longer, than 4 hours.

Wires, wires...

These are power lines crossing Losinyi Ostrov park. By the way, that name means Elk Island, the park was called so because it used to be a natural forest with great variety of wildlife, including elks. To run power line through the woods a wide fire-break was made. It provides a beauriful vista, though.

A quiet stream in the woods, some fallen logs, ferns and a lot of sunlight - isn't it just what is needed to give yourself a little break?

Welcome summer

Sometimes most welcome parks are those that are unkept. Walking in the wildness, with knee-high dandelions and nettles on your left and right, listening to birds' songs, blinking at a sudden splash of sunlight among the heavy foliage - oh, if it could last a bit longer!

Nothing much, just summer

It always amazes me to look at lush green of late May and try to imagine the way it looked in winter-time. It's so hard to believe there ever been snow, and bare branches, and dead grass. It's so human, this not being able to belive...

Dandelion

Dandelions are in full bloom in Moscow now. When the weather is sunny you can see their golden head all over grass-plats. I like those little sun-like things, they make the city brighter.

My second anniversary

It's hard to believe but Moscow DP is 2 years old! Never dreamed of making it but suddenly realized that I was already there. Of course, sometimes I was rather irregular about my posting and I appologize for that, but I always tried my best.

Thank you for being with me these years, for your encouraging comments and invaluable support! It was such a great peace of good luck to stumble upon CDP community and to have you all around!

The weather in Moscow is hesitating whether it should turn finally to spring or stay in winter a little more. Meanwhile, here is an undoubtedly wintry photograph for you.

Monday, 19 January 2009

The week-end was snowy and it was still snowing this morning. Perfect weather for winter walk, but unfortunately I've got to work till the evening. However, there is that photo I took in the wood to remind me of something beyond the office.

Sunday, 11 January 2009

Well, holidays were nice but they're over now. We have to work on Sunday because of all these 'makeshhifts' about New Year, and it seems extremely unfair! Does it happen to me only that holidays are never long enough?

Hope you're having a great week-end!
