Reflection

I am more into trees and flowers and historical sites kind of Moscow, but sometimes the urban city views win my attention completely.

I was browzing through my grey winter photos and decided to decorate the blog with a bit of red.
But I did not want you to be confused, so here I enclosed the original version, too.

Reflections

Another sign of Spring in Moscow - puddles.
In general, they're quite annoying because they take over lots of paths, leaving you no choice but to tiptoe through them and hope your feet don't get too wet! However, when they have wonderful reflections of churches and apartment buildings, I start to like them a little bit more...

One Year Here

Two days ago I was at jazz concert in small Moscow jazz club. Too dark for photos (at least for my camera and my photo-knowledge), so I started looking for any interesting angle or unexpected detail.
Here we are. The reflection of the singing musician in the glass column. Sorry for the noise.
Chin-chin!

One more thing. I joined the community and Moscow blog exactly one year ago, on 18th November 2009.

One year later I have so many more friends all over the world;
I read and understood almost all of 186 pages of my "Canon G10" manual;
I discovered and enjoyed the unknown places in the city which I loved and thought that I knew so well;
I realized that blogging is all about fun and socializing;
I have the feeling that
Eagan, Brattleboro, Barcelona, Fort Lauderdale, Hawaii, Jerusalem, Roma, Menton Boston, Helsinki, Mexico city, Athens, Ocala, Santa Fe and St. Paul, Rio, Downey, Greensboro, Jorvik, Brookville, Edmonton, Oeiras, Washington, Pasadena, Phoenix, Haninge, Prescott, Scottsdale and so many others...
are the places where I live, too. At least I know what's going on there on every day basis))))

Thank you, friends, for your comments and attention and I wish us the happy photo hunting!

PS.And thanks to the unknown author of the champagne image!

Red Bottles

It is the show-window of a little perfume shop, which belongs to "New dawn" perfume factory located in Moscow.
I was not planning to make photos there, but I could not stand these red bottles and their reflections.
Their site, looks rather stylish.

Upside down

There are few ponds in Kolomenskoe park. On a fine day the water can be so still, so glassy that you can't tell a difference between reflections and reality.

Grotto

This is so called Grotto - a rather small pavilion residing by tiny pond in Kuskovo estate. Build in 1756-1761, it was used for exqisite entertainments and delicate rest during hot summer days. Decorated with real shells, mirrows and sea stones, the Grotto imitates a natural cave providing pleasures for body and mind.

In 1939 Kuskovo was turned into Ceramics Museum, and today you can see beuatiful pieces of china ware and figurines exhibited in the Grotto pavolion.

By the way, the weather is nasty in Moscow: the temperature is only +6C and it's been raining since Wednesday. Still waiting for the summer...
