Moscow Yards

All this crooked corners, peeled paint, ugly windows, rusty roofs.
That's my city. So beautiful.

Restaurant View

The breathtaking view from the top floor of "Sputnik" hotel. Indian restaurant is located there and, if you like Indian cuisine like I do, welcome to the place, to enjoy food, hospitality and the view.

The site of the restaurant. The place was full and many visitors were native Indians, which I always considered to be good sign for national cuisines in Moscow.

Sorry for the quality of the photo (my hands and air conditioned in the right corner), I was too mesmerized by the view to notice these "details"..

Geometry

In case the new followers of this blog start thinking that Moscow is the city of parks and churches, I post today another facet of city's individuality.

I spotted this geometry unexpectedly, while driving slowly along the Leninskaya Sloboda street (yes, Lenin is still with us, in street names, monuments and underground decorations).

Google map for Luis.

Rooftops

This image copies the style of city architecture: chaotic mix of different styles, times and colors. I like this unpredictable city.

I need your advice. Already for a week I see here and in my other blog the sign, provided by GoogleChrome: pop-ups on this page are switched off. Plus there is some music playing from time to time in my other blog when I open it, and I have no clue where it comes from...
Following the blogger-help advice I removed all youtube links from the posts, no new widget-content were recently added, only the widgets which I installed centuries ago. I have new template in my other blog, but this template is clean, as it is generated by Blogger. Nothing helped.
Does anybody have idea what to do to remove this pop-up and connection to I do not know nowhere from my blog page?

Moscow is extremelly crowded, especially in central districts, and yet they manage to bring some construction into the city!

Old buildings, new buildings...

If you look at Moscow center from the high spot you'll notice that buildings are mix of various eras. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's a sad view.

Ostankino TV-tower

On a fine day of early autumn Ostankino TV-tower looks in its best, especiall when you look at it from the top floor. Can you see the sky is pinkish at the horyzon? This is Moscow smog, I believe.

Above the city

I was working quietly this morning when suddenly saw a man nearly flying in the air at my eyes level. Apparently, this was a steeplejack fixing the roof of the neighbour bell-tower but it looked quite impressive.

One more view from my office window. Today the weather is far from what you see in the photo: clouds are so low that they hide tops of skyscrapers.

From the top

Looking down from 15th floor you may come to conclusion that Moscow is under general construction.

Can you see the crow in this picture? I bet it was posing for me!

Do you know Karlsson-on-the-Roof? This character and the book are extremely popular in Russia. There are also two cartoons bases on the book which are loved by all the children.

Well, it was just a short introduction to today's photo: as I saw this attic window, my first thought was about Karlsson-on-the-Roof - don't you think it looks amazingly fitting for him? :)

You didn't think I could leave you without Kremlin panoramic view, did you? Well, here is it: a sight of Kremlin from the top of my business center. One more interesting thing about this view: you can see buildings within Kremlin wall that are unreachable for one's eyes from the ground level.

Working on the top

I went upstairs to look at the city from the top of my business center. I saw those people working on the roof of the nearby building and couldn't help taking their picture! They must be able to see a lot around: Kremlin and other famous constructions are so close, and you can see them all at once! What a view it must be!
