Zorbing

There is a new fashion in Moscow called ZORBING. I'm sure most of you are aware of such a thing, but in Moscow it's relatively fresh one. I saw those huge balls rolling down the hill and ran through a mix of feelings: curiosity, fear, excitement, dizziness and a lot of other words. I doubt, though, that I would enjoy such an activity as zorbing but it was an interesting experience to watch all those brave people.

I first saw these when we visited New Zealand in 2001. I've never heard of them since until today. It isn't the kind of thing that interests me at all so they've probably been around for a while.

The way these things go I'll probabaly end up seeing them everywhere for the next few weeks!

Heard about them, but never saw. ot particularly interested, but now that New Zealand was mentioned, remember that most radical "sports" originated down there!
Miss your comments at Blogtrotter...

I have never seen such a thing! Wow! Too scary for me, but the adventurous types would love it!

my first thought on seeing this photo....what the hell? This is new to me, but I get motion sickness too easy and wouldn't last on this ride. I like the photo.

This is like many other sports for me; love to watch them but wouldn't participate. It looks real scary to me!! But what a fascinating photo!!

It may be my age and the fact that we are empty nesters however I had never heard of zorbing until your post. I think the concept is very similar to what we did in our youth. We crawled inside old truck tires and then our "friends" rolled us down a hill.

Great photo. Looks like a fun activity to watch (I think I would be way to scared to try it myself).
