Holy Trinity Cathedral

This is the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in the Trinity Quarter. Russian churches have really long names, don't they? In 1632 there was a wooden church on this site, but it was destroyed by a fire 60 years later. The current building was constructed from 1696-1708. I wonder if it was originally painted this salmon/pink color? I like all of the detail surrounding the windows on the left tower. I've left the picture full size, so click on it to make it larger so you can really see the details!

Irina, thank you for your kind wishes yesterday! America is now 234 years old... just a baby compared to Moscow :)
