The building to the left is the theater of Soviet Army (name changed to "Theater of Russian Army" in 1993). Constructed in 1934-1940, has the biggest scene among Moscow's theaters (probably, they were planning to perform the battle scenes in full size), 1900 seats and, if you look from above, it has the shape of the 5-point star, symbol of Red Army.
Though I have never been inside, and "Stalin's Empire style" in architecture frightens me by its grandiosity, the building is very Moscow-ish.
