The mansion of merchant Tarasov at Spiridonovka was constructed in 1909-1912 by architect Zholtovsky and was inspired and copied the palatio Thiene in Vicenza, Italy by Andrea Paladdio.
It is bright and recognizable spot in city's mix of styles, times and colors.
These days the building is occupied by the Institute of Africa of Russian Academy of Science.
