The monument to Dostoevsky near "Leninka" (to the right) the largest library in the country.
Christmas tree will be here till mid January, when we celebrate New Year on 14th January (Russian old calendar).
Not much snow here and temperature dances around zero.
When preparing this post, I read that this monument was ordered by Russian nouveau-riche as his country house decoration(!). But the customer did not like the design and presented the monument to the city. And it was decided to place Fedor Michailovich near the library.
In December I went to Georgia, my father's birthplace. Here, in my other blog, I posted several photos and few facts about the country. Maybe the post will be interesting for you.
And Merry Christmas to Orthodox Christians today!

I like this shape of tree, nice!
The city was lucky to get the statue. And you captured both in one shot.
Nice posting, and I really enjoyed the link you added, with many more beautiful images and the information.
- Happy weekend to you!
A Merry Christmas to you Irina!
I visited your other blog and will go back for more! I loved all the photos!!
Mery Christmas to you...I'd like to celebrate it again!
The tree is lovely. Even with out any snow, it looks very cold with the dark sky. Merry Christmas once again!
Very nice Christmas tree.
Thank you for your link.
Enjoy your evening, dear Irina!
Very nice Irina.
Mon auteur russe préféré.
Remember reading and enjoying many of his books. A great place it must be to spend time.
Please have a good weekend.
At least the donor didn't just toss out the statue. I liked your Georgian pictures, nice collection.
Thank you for showing us!

Wow, that's some tree! And to order it and not like it and give it away... it must be nice to have that sort of money! lol
